Exercise and CBD – What is the Connection?

Exercise and CBD - What is the connection

In the early 1990s a new body system was discovered that contains two receptors, CB1 and CB2 which hold the key to linking Cannabidiol (CBD) with exercise and its role as a food supplement.

These receptors are spread throughout the body in the central nervous and immune systems. (pic of the body showing this)

It was also discovered that the body itself produces compounds that activate these receptors and because of their similarity to cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant, they were named Endocannabinoids and the system, The Endocannabinoid System or ECS.

The purpose of the endocannabinoid system

The purpose of this system is to bring back into balance all the other various body systems, to produce a state of homeostasis, like a caretaker for body systems working away to keep everything running like clockwork. More recently it was discovered that exercise increases the concentrations of these Endocannabinoids in the blood, enabling better body re-balancing and allowing it to function nearer its optimum.

Cannabidiol (CBD), one of over 100 cannabinoids found in cannabis, interacts with the Endocannabinoid System in a similar way and is also thought to stimulate the production of more CB1 and CB2 receptors. This brings wellness benefits like any food supplement should. The building blocks of these receptors is a fatty acid many of us have read about in the health press, Omega 3.

One of the richest sources of Omega 3, which is often deficient in people with a poor diet, is cold pressed Hemp seed. This is one of the reasons we at GoldenGooseCBD use this amazing oil as the carrier oil for our Golden Goose products.
